Dad Celebrates His Son’s First Birthday By Putting Him In Video Games

Game developer Ben Stirling is the proud papa of a one year old, so it’s not surprising that he would celebrate his kid’s birthday by inserting him and his achievements into popular video games like Mario Kart, Mass Effect, Portal and more. I don’t really need to tell you to hit the jump right? Cause you’re gonna do it anyway, right?

The Wonder Woman Movie Rumor That Will Blow Your Mind [Updated]

This little tidbit regarding Gal Gadot’s appearance as Wonder Woman in the upcoming Batman vs. Superman movie comes courtesy of Batman-on-Film.com (who have a good track record with DC rumors) and it’s likely to set your whole comic book world completely on end. Let’s just jump right into the crazy with a quote, shall we? Personally, I’d say it’ll be about on par with Scarlett Johansson’s first appearance as Black Widow in IRON MAN 2. I believe that it’s a cameo-plus type of role that will (hopefully) serve as a springboard to a solo Wonder Woman movie. With all that said, I’d bet a year’s pay – in MONOPOLY money, of course – that the “Amazons” of this cinematic DCU will be descendants of those “ancient Kryptonians” who attempted to set up Kryptonian outposts throughout spacedom thousands and thousands of years ago. Um, so, Wonder Woman’s ancestry traces back to Krypton. This is interesting news as it would change everything. Every. Single. Thing. And there’s more: Furthermore, I say that Wonder Woman will be powered-down, if you will, relative to Superman because these Amazons have evolved and adapted to living on Earth for hundreds of centuries. And since Kryptonians are produced without any “He’n and She’n” – Jor El and Lara excluded – couldn’t this original Kryptonian on Earth have used this reproductive science to create an all-female race? I say yes! Take a deep breath and think about what this means for a second. It would mean Wonder Woman is sort of inferior to Superman in terms of her power and it would completely toss out all the mythology of her character in favor of a sci-fi origin story. I’m not sure I know how to feel about this and since it’s only a rumor (an unsourced one at that) I wouldn’t get too worked up about it just yet.

Thor: The Dark World Concept Art Shows Valkyrie And More

Concept art tells its own story. You can see designs for locations or characters that ended up on the cutting room floor before production even started. Character and creature designs by artist Josh Nizzi for Thor The Dark World reveal that Valkyrie was possibly going to make an appearance in the film. At least, the idea crossed someone’s mind. Nizzi has three pieces listed for the Asgardian heroine, and I would have loved to see her show up in Asgard. Maybe next time. Besides Valkyrie, the gallery of concept art features several ferocious creatures. They are all worth checking out. More character concept art after the break.

Katee Sackhoff Talks Wanting To Play Harley Quinn, Wonder Woman, And Han Solo

Katee Sackhoff kicks butt. The talented actress will long be remembered for her role as Starbuck in the new Battlestar Galactica, and she’s stayed busy since then. Most recently, she took on a role in a Riddick. She spoke with Total Film about the role, and they ventured into other territory – like comic books and Star Wars. Sackhoff is more than willing to take on iconic roles and even auditioned for the Wonder Woman television show: I remember auditioning for the Wonder Woman television show and being told that I wasn’t the Wonder Woman type, but if I wanted to play the best friend, I could audition for that. And remember thinking to myself, ‘You obviously haven’t seen my work! As cool as Wonder Woman is, she would love to get a chance to play Harley Quinn and this isn’t the first time she’s expressed her love for the character. She told Total Film: I would love to play Harley Quinn. I just think it’s amazing. I mean I think I might give away my firstborn to have an opportunity to play Harley Quinn… I love trying to understand the villain, and trying to understand the things they do and why they do them, and I’ve always found her and The Joker, you almost can’t understand them. And it makes it so much more interesting because everything’s fair game, and I love that. I loved the usefulness of her, I thought that was interesting, and I just think that it’s a fantastic character. And as far as Star Wars, she wouldn’t mind playing in that universe either. She’s already voiced a fantastic character on The Clone Wars and is a fan of Han Solo but getting involved in the new movies wouldn’t stink: If J.J. would listen, I would play a rock in the Star Wars movies. I think that they’re fantastic, I think that he’s a great choice, and I’m excited to see what happens in that world. I’d love to see Sackhoff in any or all of these roles. She would even manage to make a rock interesting.
